Lubrication has a very important effect on the operation and life of rolling bearings. Grease is made of base oil, thickener and additive, different types and the same type of different grades of grease performance is very different, the allowable rotation limit is different, must pay attention to when choosing.

The performance of grease is mainly determined by the base oil. Generally low viscosity base oil is suitable for low temperature and high speed; High viscosity is suitable for high temperature and high load. The thickener is also related to the lubrication performance, and the water resistance of the thickener determines the water resistance of the grease. In principle, different brands of greases cannot be mixed, and even greases with the same thickening agent will have bad effects on each other due to different additives.

Grease lubrication is the direct application of grease to the moving surface of the rolling bearing. However, when adding grease to the raceway and sliding working surface of the bearing, the following five principles must be followed:

(1) The grease must run through the working surface of the rolling bearing and the internal gap of the bearing, so that the grease can fully lubricate.

(2) A certain amount of grease should be retained on the working surface of the bearing for a certain period of time, but it should be prevented from excessive loss of grease.

(3) The flow direction of the input and discharge of the grease should be consistent with the sealing requirements, which is conducive to the discharge of the invading dirt.

(4) Under the premise of ensuring good lubrication of rolling bearings, reduce the amount of grease as much as possible.

(5) Open an outlet hole at the end of the grease flow so that the newly added grease can squeeze out the old grease to ensure good lubrication. In particular, when lubricating the rolling bearing with grease, it is necessary to pay attention to the working temperature range of the rolling bearing grease, if it is not in the appropriate temperature range, then the effect will be counterproductive.
